Peterborough paramedics launch campaign to address non-emergency 911 calls

A new campaign to get residents to access appropriate medical care has been launched in Peterborough.

Dubbed “Is Your Urgency An Emergency?” the campaign wants people to think about what medical services they really need before automatically calling 911.

It could be self-care, consulting a pharmacist, or a primary care provider.

Peterborough paramedics say many people are still calling 911 for medical non-emergencies – and that’s a problem.
