It’s been nearly 10 years since Tanya Brooks was murdered on the streets of Halifax. Her body was found May 10, 2009 in the window well of St. Patrick’s Alexandra. Brooks was a Mi’kmaw woman, a mother, a grandmother and a sibling. Elizabeth McSheffrey spoke with her sister to discuss the ways Brooks’ legacy lives on.
