Kelowna neighbourhood with heritage buildings opposes townhouses, fourplex

Residents who live near Laurier Ave. and Ethel St. in Kelowna came out to oppose rezoning a neighbour’s property during a public hearing in council chambers on Tuesday night.

Many voiced their opposition to two proposals: a three-storey, six unit townhouse complex and a four-plex.

Neighbours say the projects do not fit in the single-family home neighbourhood.

Some nearby homes are heritage designated.
