Canadian privacy watchdog to take Facebook to federal court over privacy practices

Canada’s federal privacy commissioner Daniel Therrien said in a news conference on Thursday that he’s taking Facebook to court to “force” the social media giant to rectify its privacy practices, following a major leak of personal data that was later used for political purposes.
