NASA astronauts began on Friday a series of four spacewalks outside the International Space Station to continue an overall upgrade of the ISS’s power system. Flight engineers Nick Hague and Anne McClain launched the spacewalks on Friday. They are working to replace nickel-hydrogen batteries with more powerful lithium-ion batteries for the power channel on one pair of the station’s solar arrays.
