Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Ralph Goodale said on Friday in a unrelated announcement in Kelowna, B.C., that Canada strongly condemned the “act of terrorism” in New Zealand and would be ready to offer any assistance to the country after two mosque shootings there left at least 49 people dead and wounded more than 40 during Friday prayers.
