Top general ‘not consulted’ on Trump’s plan to withdraw troops from Syria

Gen. Joseph Votel, commander of U.S. Central Command, told a Senate hearing on Tuesday that he had not been consulted ahead of President Donald Trump’s surprise decision to pull U.S. troops out of Syria.
