Frefighters were called to the auto parts plant on Technology Drive around 10 a.m. after a fire alarm was triggered. Crews discovered thick smoke billowing from an injection moulding machine.

One employee was assessed by paramedics for smoke inhalation. Frefighters ventilated the building as water from a sprinkler system was discharged from an exterior pipe.

Employees waited outside until firefighters cleared the scene.

The cause of the fire or damage estimate is not yet known.
