Senator Bernie Sanders on Tuesday said President Donald Trump himself was to blame for the government shutdown crisis. Referring to the consequences of the ongoing partial shutdown, Sanders said that there was “an emergency and a crisis that he himself has created”. Sanders stressed that “federal employees deserve to be treated with respect not held hostage as political pawns.”
