Lifesaving drug approved for children with a degenerative illness

Tue, Dec 18: A victory for families of children suffering from a degenerative disease called spinal muscular atrophy. The Quebec government has approved the drug Spinraza for children diagnosed with SMA type 2 and 3. Health Canada approved the drug and provinces agreed to only cover the cost of treatment for type 1 of the disease in October 2018.
