Father of Guatemalan girl calls for thorough investigation into daughter’s death: spokesman

Jakelin Caal’s father wants a thorough investigation into her death. The 7-year-old girl from Guatemala was in Border Control custody when she died on December 8. Ruben Garcia, who represents her father Nery Caal, said Saturday, “The family is seeking an objective and thorough investigation, and are asking that investigators will assess this incident within nationally recognized standards for the arrest and custody of children.”
