North and South Korean soldiers on Wednesday, December 12, crossed the demilitarized zone (DMZ ) between the two countries to inspect the dismantling of guard posts, Seoul reported. The peaceful visits and inspections – the first since the Korean War – were part of the agreement that each country would remove 10 guard posts along the DMZ and preserve one on each side, including the one previously visited by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
