Downtown Penticton businesses disagree with City plan to ban cannabis shops on Main Street

A push by businesses to add pot shops to downtown Penticton’s busiest streets is coming up against a wall at city hall.

Staff recommend keeping cannabis sales away from Main Street.

Their recommendation takes into account provincial laws that dictate how those stores should look from the street.

As Shelby Thom reports, those laws don’t allow for the transparency Penticton wants downtown.
