Wisconsin Republicans use rare lame-duck session to try and weaken incoming Democrats

In Wisconsin, Senate Republican leaders are moving ahead quickly on a series of proposals they want to pass before Governor-elect Democrat Tony Evers replaces Republican Governor Scott Walker. A public hearing was scheduled Monday at the State Capitol. The proposals would move the 2020 presidential primary date, restrict early voting and weaken the power of the Governor and the Attorney General. The Senate and Assembly will take up the measures Tuesday.
