International students from Fleming College in Peterborough recently swapped their books for brooms as they tried a popular Canadian sport.
48 students got swept up in the excitement of throwing rocks at the Peterborough Curling Club.
Club volunteers taught students, who come from all across the world, how to play the game. Getting the hang of the ice is tough enough, but what made things even more difficult: Some of the students didn’t speak English.
So instructors had to get creative.
