Ontario’s finance minister Vic Fedeli announced Friday that an independent commission has concluded that the recently defeated Liberal government ran a deficit of $15 billion in the last fiscal year rather than balancing the books as claimed. A big component of this was looking into the liberal government’s accounting practices surrounding teacher pension plans and the province’s fair hydro plan. Shallima Maharaj explains.
