Alberta recently joined 6 other provinces in covering some or all of the costs for an HIV prevention drug program. It’s known as Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis or PrEP. Dr. Julio Montaner, head of the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, speaks with Global News about why some provincial governments are picking up the costs—and who is eligible for the coverage.
