On Thursday, Bill Morneau said the government decided to move forward with the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion before the court ruling because they saw that a private sector firm could not deal with the political risk between B.C. and Alberta. Morneau would not confirm if there is a break fee and whether the government will pay it to walk away from the Trans Mountain expansion deal.
