On Wednesday, U.S. Parks Police evacuated Liberty Island of tourists after Therese Okoumou climbed to the base of the Statue of Liberty. Okoumou scaled the statue in protest of U.S. immigration policy that has seen children separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border, said a federal official.
