Canadian streaming services paying tax while Netflix is off the hook for GST

We first heard about the threat of “Netflix Tax” in 2015. But the streaming service is now investing $500 million in production in Canada and, as part of the deal, Ottawa won’t charge the American company any GST. But as Abigail Bimman explains, there is a tax on Canadians companies providing similar services.
