They will soon have clean drinking water but it comes with at a hefty price. The South East Kelowna Irrigation District has agreed to join the city of Kelowna’s water system — a move that is going to cost more than $80 million. A large portion of that money is coming from grants, but the district is $15 million short and as Kelly Hayes explains, South East Kelowna rate payers will have to pick up the tab.
