The parents of an Alberta toddler, who were found guilty of failing to provide the necessaries of life when their son died from bacterial meningitis in 2012, said Tuesday that they feel “vindicated” after the Supreme Court of Canada ordered a new trial after it found the original trial judge did not properly instruct jurors.
