Intermittent eruptions of lava continued late on Monday, May 7, from a series of fissures in the Leilani Estates subdivision near Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said two new fissures appeared on May 7, bringing the total in the area to 12 in the wake of a 6.9-magnitude earthquake near the Kilauea volcano on May 4.
