Germany has a special intermediary role, keeping open dialogue with Russia on the Syrian crisis, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said on Tuesday. Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland was alongside Maas in Berlin and agreed the dialogue is necessary.
