It was a devastating summer last year for wildfires in BC and crews are preparing for a possible repeat this summer. That’s why there was a water-bucketing helicopter in the air near Penticton over the weekend, while on the ground, there were dozens of fire fighters and numerous support vehicles. They weren’t responding to a real emergency. Instead, they were preparing to do so in a wildfire interface training exercise.
