From Aleppo , Syria to Peterborough, Ontario: After two years, the Shehada Family has settled in to a new school, a new language and new dreams.

Their transition from war to peace was the matter of a plane ride. The first GAR (Government Assisted Refugee) Family to be received in Peterborough from Syria in is closing in on its second year in Canada. Husam Shehada and his family reflect on their first day, their last two years, and the network who’ve helped them transition to life in Canada.
