The Kelowna murder investigation was never a whodunit case. Chad Colton Alphonse admits to the stabbing death of his good friend during a drunken brawl in March 2016. Alphonse is now on trial on a charge of second-degree murder. After Wednesday’s final submissions, the jury now has to decide if the killing was a deliberate murder or self-defence. The extent of Alphonse’s alcohol intoxication is also an issue at the trial.
