A man pleaded guilty in a Vernon courtroom Monday to a murder charge. But the conviction brings little comfort to the family of the victim. That’s because Matthew Stephen Foerster was accused of first-degree murder in the slaying of a teenage girl but pleaded guilty to the less serious offense of second-degree murder. The admission was the result of a plea bargain deal.
