There will not be a second trial for a man who was convicted of first-degree murder in the slaying of an Okanagan teenager. Matthew Stephen Foerster was found guilty about three years ago of killing Taylor Van Diest. But on appeal, Foerster was granted a new trial which was to start in May. But now Global Okanagan News has learned a plea deal has been reached whereby Foerster will plead guilty to the less serious offense of second-degree murder.
