On February 15, Cyril Ramaphosa was sworn in as South Africa’s 5th president since the end of apartheid. Even his political opponents welcomed his appointment, after the ongoing allegations of corruption that plagued his predecessor Jacob Zuma. But as Redmond Shannon reports, Ramaphosa takes over a country still deeply divided along racial lines, with an economy stuck in the doldrums.
