Alternatives to using salt on Peterborough roads

It seems we’re getting a short break from all that messy sleet, snow and ice.
However, no doubt with a few more months of winter ahead of us, that weather will be back , and the roads will once again be icy and dangerous.
But are the materials the City uses to keep our roads safe the most efficient – and beneficial?
And is it the City who is using too much salt – or the homeowners?
