“Look Straight Up” : Astrophotographer and Amateur Astronomer Rick Stankiewicz explains why it’s literally the best instruction for catching the Geminid Meteor Shower.

A “waning crescent moon” and few clouds make for optimal viewing tonight and tomorrow (Dec 13 & 14th) of the Geminid Meteor Shower. Bundle up, pull up a chaise lounge, get away from the ambient light , then watch for the light show. Key viewing times are 1am-5am, but Stankiewicz says start watching for meteor shower activity anytime after 9am. And don’t forget to look “up”.
