Thu, Nov 30: City council voted 11-4 to pass the municipal budget, which has a 3.8% property tax increase. The financial plan includes a $4-million spending cut for the Calgary Fire Department. Transit bus service cuts were avoided and the Calgary police got a $20-million spending boost. Gary Bobrovitz reports.
