A North Korean soldier is in hospital after soldiers from North Korea’s military shot at and wounded the man on Monday who was crossing a jointly controlled area at the heavily guarded border to defect to South Korea, according to the South’s military. The surgeon in charge says the man has several ruptures in his internal organs.
