U.S. hold joint military exercises with South Korea amid nuclear standoff with the North

The USS Ronald Reagan sailed into the port of Busan in southern South Korea on Saturday in a regular visit to the country as tensions stemming from North Korea’s missile and nuclear provocations simmer. Commander of Carrier Strike Group Five, Marc Dalton, told reporters Sunday that the purposes of the joint exercises are purely defensive.
