Mi’kmaq say Treaty Day in Nova Scotia now about celebration

Mi’kmaq across Nova Scotia celebrated Treaty Day Saturday, marking the day the Peace and Friendship Treaty was signed between the British and the Mi’kmaq Nation. It’s a time for the Mi’kmaq government and Crown to renew the commitments made in the treaty. As Marieke Walsh explains, Treaty Day has moved from a day of protest to a day of celebration.
