To date, the Ontario Turtle Trauma Centre on Chemong Road has served nearly 890 injured turtles from across the province.
Last year in total, the centre helped 375.
The centre is also currently incubating 3,000 eggs which will soon be hatching.
They’ll all be available for viewing this Saturday as part of an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Centre coordinator, Donnell Gasbarrini, says the increase in injuries is not an indication of a healthy turtle population but more likely connected to the wet, rainy summer.
