Speaking to the media Monday, Toronto Raptors superstar point guard Kyle Lowry said in response to the litany of national anthem protests in the NFL this past weekend that athletes are human beings and citizens first of all, free to speak their mind of social issues, and that he thinks it’s “sad” that U.S. President Donald Trump is advocating for their firing on social media.
