In Jules Verne’s novel “Around the World in 80 Days”, Phileas Fogg circumnavigates the globe, by ship and by train. On September 18, a Scottish adventurer finished the same journey even quicker than Fogg, but Mark Beaumont did it all on a bicycle. As Redmond Shannon reports, the Canadian leg of his record-breaking trip was especially challenging.
