Philippine troops encountered difficulties battling Islamic rebels to recapture parts of a besieged southern Philippine city because of the urban terrain, the military said on Wednesday. More than 800 people have been killed, most of them insurgents, since May 23 when the militants occupied large parts of the predominantly Muslim city of Marawi.
