Peterborough updates reptile pet rules

Peterborough city council has approved a bylaw banning large pet reptile species, like anacondas and Burmese pythons.
Any type of snake longer than 3 meters is not allowed as a pet. The city has also lifted an old rule that allowed a limit of 3 exotic pets of the same species.
Gord Perry, co-owner of House of Scales, says he’s happy with the changes. However, he says there is still a lot of education that needs to be done.
