The evidence has been heard, the final submissions have been made, and it’s now in the hands of the jury. The 12 member panel in a Kelowna trial began deliberations Monday afternoon to determine if a man is guilty or not of manslaughter. Cory Van Gilder was charged after he killed an Ontario resident with a single punch. Van Gilder claims he was protecting himself and others from a dangerous man. But the prosecutor says there was no need to deliver the fatal blow.
