Stanley Park Zoo polar bear is dead

Tuk, the 37-year-old polar bear who lived in Stanley Park Zoo, is dead. The Vancouver Parks Board made the decision to put him down because his heart was failing. Tuk was the last animal exhibit at the zoo, which started its phase out in 1993. (Original air date: December 10, 1997)
