French voters ditch legacy political parties

European Union leaders are breathing a sigh of relief, after the first round of France’s presidential elections saw a moderate pro-EU candidate emerge as the frontrunner. Emmanuel Macron will now face Marine Le Pen in the final round of voting on May 7th. As Jeff Semple reports, the two candidates want to take France is very different directions.
