The Liberals’ 2017 budget didn’t have a lot of new spending and when it comes to the defence file, there was nothing new. Billions of dollars promised for new equipment had been deferred for up to 20 years. As Mike Le Couteur reports, it’s happening as NATO is asking for Canada to increase defence spending.
