Mississauga man turning adversity into inspiration

Mon, Mar 20: Wali Shah is the child of Pakistani immigrants. He grew up in Mississauga and was the target of racial slurs and bullying. He started hanging out with tough kids in school and by the age of 15, he was facing assault charges and jail time. He turned his life around and was named to the prestigious ‘Top 20 Under 20.’ Today, Wali is a successful poet and motivational speaker.
