There was a fond farewell today for Bao Bao, an American-born giant panda, as she lifted off from Washington’s Dulles International Airport bound for her new home in China. As Eric Sorensen reports, it was a symbolic moment crowning the success of “panda diplomacy” in resurrecting the species from the brink of extinction.
