The triple first-degree murder trial of Douglas Garland begins Monday in Calgary. He’s charged with killing five-year-old Nathan O’Brien and his grandparents Alvin and Kathy Liknes in the summer of 2014. As Reid Fiest reports, O’Brien’s mother will be the first to take the stand when the five-week jury trial begins.
