In the early morning hours on January 12th, the senate took a major step towards repealing the Affordable Care Act. Lawmakers voted 51-48 on a nonbinding Republican-backed measure that will ease the way for action on further repeal legislation next month. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders decried the vote, saying it will mean “many thousands” will die as a result.
