Year In Review: Community rallies behind 25 year-old Lethbridge sexual assault victim and family

Wed, Dec 28: On September 30th a Lethbridge woman was viscously attacked in what police called one of the most violent assault cases they’ve ever investigated. Denzel bird faces numerous charges including attempted murder, and aggravated sexual assault. The 20 year-old remains in custody, and has yet to have a bail hearing. The community has rallied behind the family, holding a candle light vigil, and round dance in support of her fight. Since the incident, the family says the young woman has made steady improvements, from being in a medically induced coma, to most recently walking with support from her therapist. Matt Battochio reports.
